The New Blaine County Jail and Sheriff’s Office: Modern, Secure Facility by Principle Design
The
Blaine County Jail and Sheriff’s Office project addresses the county’s urgent need to replace its outdated, overcrowded facility located at the courthouse. With the
Oklahoma State Jail Guidelines becoming increasingly stringent, particularly under the oversight of the
Jail Inspection Division of the OSDH, the design team from
Principle Design, an experienced
architecture firm in Oklahoma, has proposed a compliant, state-of-the-art solution.
This 15,000-square-foot facility will feature 84 beds, including a 56-bed male detention area and a 20-bed female wing. The
new Blaine County Jail includes a
modern Sheriff’s Office, a multipurpose arraignment space, secure evidence storage, a fully enclosed sally-port for booking intake, and appropriately sized laundry and kitchen spaces with room for future expansion. Additionally, the design integrates a trustee pod and four 24-hour isolation cells.
Security is a top priority, with
modern security and access control systems designed to minimize staffing requirements. A central control tower will oversee all camera and door operations, with full visibility into the main detention areas, ensuring a secure and efficient environment.
Scheduled for completion this fall, this
jail construction project remains on budget and will provide
Blaine County with a durable, adaptable, and compliant facility for decades to come, designed by
Principle Design, a trusted name in
Oklahoma architecture.
